Not True

Believe me he's not. He never is. If he could nurse all day he would.

Thank you Allison, Zach and Zoey for the Cute Onsie

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like...

A 7 week old wearing a Big Santa Hat.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a great Thanksgiving. We got to see a bunch of family and met Zoey for the first time. Henry and Ben went bowling for the first time and Henry got a strike!!! The weather was perfect and so was the food. We have so much to be Thankful for. :)

Gimme Some Attention, Damnit!

Sometimes Henry gets frusterated when Ben gets attention.

We Love Our Grammy

Grammy recently came to vist. We all enjoyed having her. She played with Henry and Ben non-stop and when they were napping she helped us with our never-ending projects.

Thank you Grammy!!!

My eyes are open and I'm starting to talk

Benjamin is 6 weeks here.

I walked in and Big Brother was trying to feed him. Henry got bored, walked away and left the bottle sitting on Ben's lips. Ben's eyes would go crossed when he tried to look down at the nipple. I could tell what he was thinking, "if I could only move the bottle with my mind".
Ben now says, "ah-goo" and he smiles when you make a clicking sound. He's almost out of his 0-3 month clothes. I'm sure he is over 12 pounds now.

Baby Benjamin at 5 weeks

He already weighs 11 lbs. 3 oz. He is very strong and tries to hold his head up. He is very alert now and will track us as we walk across the room. He has started to smile.

He's a little bit of Sunshine. He's a Smile to Light our days. He has Stolen our Hearts with his Charming little ways.

He's our Precious Baby Boy. A Gift from up Above, who has Filled our Days with Laughter and our lives with Lots of Love.

A Bird's Eye View

Dispute Between Neighbors - this is a true story...

A city councilman in Utah , Mark Easton, had a beautiful view of the east mountains, until a new neighbor purchased the lot below his house and built a new home. The new home was 18 inches higher than the ordinances would allow, so Mark Easton, mad about his lost view, went to the city to make sure they enforced the lower roof line ordinance.

The new neighbor had to drop the roof line, at great expense.

Recently, Mark Easton called the city, and informed them that his new neighbor had installed some vents on the side of his home. Mark didn't like the look of these vents and asked the city to investigate. When they went to Mark 's home to see what the vents looked like, this is what they found...

Waa!! Waaaa!!! Waaaaaa!!!!!!

Ben has figured out that this big blonde woman runs to him everytime he cries. Almost every time I put him down he starts. The urgency of his cry causes me to feel anxious and so I end up carrying him around ALL day. This gets to be a bit exhausting.
I laughed when my dad sent me an email of "useful inventions". I got a kick out of The Zacky.
"The Zaky is an ergonomic infant pillow designed by a mom to mimic the size, weight, touch, and feel of her hand and forearm to help her baby with comfort, support, protection, and development.. The Zaky can help calm your baby and help your baby sleep better through the night."

8 Pounds 7.8 Ounces of Pure Joy

The Offspring

Three Days Young

Just resting up for tonight

The Best Big Brother...with mixed feelings at times

Henry has been very curious and surprisingly gentle with little Ben. Dave and I have been secretly watching him when the two of them alone. Dave said that Henry tried to feed Ben a bottle while he was asleep and then wiped his mouth with a tissue after some milk dripped. I walked into the room and found the baby rattle next to Ben's head. I smiled and praised Henry. However, the next time I walked in the room Ben's head was covered with a receiving blanket. Maybe he thought that if he couldn't see him he doesn't exist. I think that Henry is enjoying a new baby, but misses getting all of the attention. For the most part he is doing very well. Once we get semi-caught up on sleep we're going to have to take him to do something special. Afterall, being a Big Brother is a hard job and Henry deserves a little recognition. :)

Henry's Favorite Commercial

Hot Mama, Cold Lake

A few weeks ago Dave's company had their annual trip to Whiskeytown Lake. They usually get off early and spend an afternoon hanging out. It happened to be a day that I worked, so I figured that Dave and Henry could just go and enjoy themselves. Unexpectedly, I got off at noon due to a light day and showed up in my maternity work clothes. With nothing else to change into, I just sat in a chair in the shade and didn't do my usual running around with my camera to catch some blackmail shots of the staff (Dave is great with photoshop). Someone got these shots of Henry enjoying himself and I thought I'd share. He looks like a big boy now...huh?

Num, Num Good!

New Family Phrase

A couple of months ago Dave and Henry were standing by the microwave and Dave began the countdown to the completion of warming "precious", Henry's bottle.
I heard Dave, "10, 9, 8, 7..." and I heard Henry counting with his Daddy, "blah, jabber, OAT!, jabber..."
Dave looks up and says, "I didn't realize "OAT" was a number but he said it with such oomph I have to give him credit for that one."
Since this time "OAT!" has become part of our family lingo. We have adjusted the meaning and use it sort of like Homer Simpson uses the word, "D'OH" or when I am trying to roll my pregnant belly over in bed to get comfortable "OAT!" often rolls off my tongue.

OAT!, got to go...the phone is ringing. :)

These Boots Were Made For Splashing

We had to rotate Henry's shoes because his feet just went through a growth spurt. I pulled out these boots and thought, "great, now we can just rinse off the dirt". I wanted Henry to like them so I told them that they were his "SpongeBob boots". He got this huge smile and said, "Ooh, wow...BumBob" and couldn't wait to get them on. Now we can't keep them off of him. And, what's great is that he can put them on without our help. Granted, they are usually backwards, but he is motived and trying. He knows how to take them off before coming inside too. Our kid is growing up by leaps and bounds!

110% Boy

Dave found a dirt bike that he wants to fix up for Henry. Little by little Dave has been cleaning it and fixing this and that. It's not a huge priority because the bike is meant for an older child-maybe aged 7-8 on up. Dave was outside and he looked over and Henry had climbed up on it. There he was making all of his: car, truck, motorcycle, airplane, and boat noises that he makes, "Varoom!, Varoom", "errrrr", "eeeee", "squeal", "blam, bam, crunch" . And, as usual, his voice was in proportion to the size of the toy. I swear I think I heard him all of the way in the kitchen. :) One of my friends said, "Henry isn't just 100% boy...I think he's 110% boy". I think she's right. Maybe I ought to get him in the kitchen more often?

Henry at Powell's

A few weeks ago we were in Chico and took Henry to Powell's Sweet Shop. What a neat place. Just like an old fashioned candy store. We enjoyed some gelato and watched Henry get a "sugar high" right before his naptime.
