"Don't just give a gift, Grant a Wish"

Last year we got Henry all dolled up (as an Elf) and had his picture taken with Santa at Sears. A store employee called a couple of weeks ago and asked if they could put one of the pictures on display.

Of course I said "Yes". And I was thinking... "I can blog that". Hehehe. Dustin you've created a monster.

He was a bit fussy that day and the Santa was a bit freaky looking. I wasn't super happy with the pictures so I also had some pictures taken with the Santa at the Mall. I thought the one taken at the Mall was better than the photos from Sears.

I told myself that I wouldn't post anything for Christmas until December, but I couldn't wait. Hey, the stores already have had holiday decorations up for 1-2 months. Actually, I am short on ideas for things to blog. Unless you all want to see some more pictures of our giant mushrooms?

All Turkied Out

Well, I had a yummy biscuit for dinner tonight. I had a smidgen of turkey, but those damn green beans were so offensive that I couldn't let them remain on my highchair tray. I threw them at my Mommy and Daddy and spit out all of the saliva in my mouth that bore that retched taste. How dare they give those to me. I'll have to pay them back with a few middle of the night awakenings. The dinner night was so traumatic that it drove me to hit the bottle. Ahhhh, leche sweet leche.

Something to be thankful for :).

Got Milk?

I was up early this morning and somehow came across a milk advertisement. Their new slogan is "Get the Glass" and they have a virtual board game. Kinda cute. http://www.gettheglass.com/ Just click on the "Launch Fullscreen" button. Have fun and Oh, drink your milk.

Three cheers for Troy!!!!

Word travels fast in this family. We heard you passed the Bar exam. We are so happy for you and I'm proud to be related.

I told Dave, "It must be in the genes". Dave's response was, "What to go to court and stand before a judge?" Hahaha, Smart ass.

Seriously, you studied so hard and it paid off. A job well done.

Congrats to Troy Sutton, Esquire

Gorilla and Lefty Save the Day

Yes, Henry is a Mama's boy. He still likes to cuddle and comfort himself by "nursing". Nothing too much there, but he sure does try. In any case, I got a notice for Jury Duty and guess what? Henry's prolonged need for Mama helped excuse Mama from her civic duty. Thank goodness, cause Mama's schedule is a bit out-of-control right now. If you don't believe me, just look at the time of this post. :)

P.S. The names Gorilla and Lefty will be explained at a later date. Lefty is pretty straight forward, but Gorilla needs some 'splaining.

Lil' Peanut

I was looking through pictures the other day and came across this. Gosh, look at how small he was. One week old. After looking at these I went up to his crib (he was sound asleep) and took him out so I could cuddle him. Will he let me do that when he's 16? Hope so.

WooHoo!!!

I was gone all day yesterday and I came home to two cute men and a clean house!!! Am I dreaming? If so, don't wake me up :)

The Endangered Striped Bandecoot

Henry has several of these Striped PJs from Carters. Many mornings Dave would bring this little critter in to me in the morning and he'd say something like: "Do I see a Striped Bandecoot?', "Does the Striped Bandecoot want its Mommy?" or "Did I just wake a Striped Bandecoot up and take it from its den?"
Every time I would just laugh or grumble depending on how awake I was, but it always reminded me of Marlin Perkins and Wild Kingdom. I can hear him now talking about natural habitats, rituals, or behaviors of animals. We used to watch it with Doc (my grandfather) on Sunday nights. Boy does that bring back memories! Little did he know that there would eventually be Animal Planet and The Discovery Channel. A show truly ahead of its time.****

****brought to you by the Mutual of Omaha :)

S'rooms

Okay, as mentioned before with the pine cones, ditto with mushrooms. These things are all over the place! Now if we could just figure out if they were edible or not? I have a couple of names of some s'room gurus, now I just need to get off of my duff and see if we have a fortune in the making. In the meantime, they are all off limits. Doesn't Red = Dangerous in most species. If so, then about a quarter of these are out, but the white ones look similar to the ones in the stores... just bigger. If anyone knows what these are let us know. We'll have you over for dinner sometime :). Thanks.

Van Gylie

Here are a couple of pictures that I made/ altered with photo shop after Laurie sent me some pictures of Kylie years ago. I never got around to showing these to Laurie. At least I don't think I ever did? In any case these were probably made one night as I was procrastinating on doing my studying-something I was really good at.

Henry the Vacuum Jockey

Anytime the vacuum gets taken out Henry will run and jump on. Many times he will get off and find a "hat" and then get back on. He rides it all over the house. Gosh, he is funny.

Ride em' Cowboy!

Bloom Where You're Planted

My father has always said, "When life gives you lemons...Make lemonade". What about when life gives you 20 acres filled with pine cones? Make pine cone flowers, of course. Dave and I played around during Henry's nap and came up with this crafty little project. Oh, don't laugh my firend. You may just be the recipiant of one of these beauties for Christmas this year :-).

Coming soon: Henry the Vacuum Jockey

Fun Times at Shingletown Family Circle

Deborah sure does know how to throw a party. There's nothing that goes better with Dia de Los Muertos than a Mexican Buffet. We had a great time. Thank you for having us.

R.I.P. Dwight & Maurice

Yes, it is only the day after Halloween and here are our science projects, I mean pumpkins. They are soon destined for the Happy Compost Grounds.
